Cinnamon Roll S'mores

Graham crackers have had a long run. A split cinnamon roll holds a toasted marshmallow and a square of chocolate better, and it turns a fire pit into an event. Good for backyards, cookouts and any evening in Connecticut that is warm enough to stay outside.

- Serves
- 4 s'mores
- Difficulty
- Easy
Ingredients
- 4 cinnamon rolls
- 8 marshmallows
- 1 bar dark or milk chocolate, broken into squares
- Optional: peanut butter, sliced strawberries
Instructions
- 01
Split each cinnamon roll horizontally. Warm the halves near the fire or in a 300F oven for 4 minutes.
- 02
Toast the marshmallows to your preferred level of char.
- 03
Place chocolate on the bottom half, then the hot marshmallow, then the top half.
- 04
Press gently and hold for 20 seconds so the chocolate melts into the swirl.
- 05
Eat immediately, over a napkin, with no expectations of staying clean.
Tips
- Warm both halves first. Cold roll plus hot marshmallow melts nothing.
- Set out a tray of split, warmed halves before people start toasting so there is no assembly bottleneck.
Variations
- Add a spoon of peanut butter to the bottom half.
- Use a caramel-filled chocolate square for something genuinely excessive.
